This event is sanctioned by the Canadian Volkssport Federation (CVF), a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV) and is eligible for the IVV achievement award program.

It is recommended that you leave your vehicle at the END of the walk at the Sports Arena. There are a limited number of busses returning to Youbou during the day.

The base price for a team includes each person's entry fee, food at the Rest Stops, prizes, medical care, use of facilities (porta potties, rest stops, start/finish site, foot soaks, massages, etc) and team vehicle.

Be the team that raises the most money for charity and win a prize!

Vehicles MUST identify your team, so why not showcase and promote yourself? Decorate your team vehicle!

For security reasons, all team members will have their numbers recorded at rest stops 3,5,7,10, 11 and 12.. Team vehicles MUST stop at these rest stops.
This team option replaces all previous Great Lake Walk incentive programs.

THE RULES FOR TEAMS

Minimum number of team members is 3.
Maximum team members is equal to the number of seatbelts in the team vehicle.
You monitor your own team and the distance each person walks.
An adult must accompany children under 14 years.
One team vehicle per team. The team driver may also be a team member.
The team vehicle must be a regular passenger vehicle.
Route committee will be monitoring team vehicles. RCMP will be Team vehicles goes out before the 5am start time.
Team members can start the walk together.
All team members MUST cross the finish line together.

Waiver and Indemnity Agreement - The registrant is 19 years of age or older (or has a guardian who has also signed this waiver) and agrees to enter this event at his/her own risk, assuming full responsibility for any personal injury, death, or property damage, and agrees that the Great Lake Walk Society and their sponsors and partners including TimberWest Forest Corp. and their directors, officers and employees (the “Releasees”) have made no representations or warrantees respecting the suitability or condition of the route. In consideration of the Releasees accepting this registration, the registrant further agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Releasees from and against any and all claims (the “Claims”) whatsoever, including all damages, personal injury, liabilities, costs (including legal or other fees) arising directly or indirectly from the participation of the registrant in this event (except claims arising from the gross negligence of the Great Lake Walk Society, their sponsors or partners), and agrees to release the Releasees from any and all liability with respect to any such Claims.

The registrant understands that he/she is waiving certain legal rights by accepting this waiver.

Pre Walk Shuttle bus - $3.00.
It is recommended that you leave your vehicle at the END of the walk at the Sports Arena. There are a limited number of busses returning to Youbou during the day.
A bus is available for those needing transportation from Lake Cowichan to Youbou starting from the Lake Cowichan Arena at 3:15AM.

Post Walk Shuttle bus - $3.00. A bus is available for those needing transportation from Lake Cowichan to Youbou after the Walk. The shuttle bus will be available for the same fee during the walk for anyone returning to Youbou to pick up a vehicle.

Breakfast - $5.50. Served from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Includes scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, orange juice, coffee and tea.

Pasta Dinner - $9.00. Your choice of Meat or Meatless Lasagna. Friday from 4pm to 7:30pm at the Youbou Community Hall.
